Long-distance cycle route Romantic Road

35:25 h 2178 hm 1534 hm 496,6 km very difficult

Over a length of 500 kilometers, the long-distance cycle route runs parallel to the Romantic Road on lightly trafficked side roads, local connecting roads, land consolidation and forest paths. The long-distance cycle route D9 "Romantic Road" was awarded 3 stars by the ADFC in 2013 and is carefully and continuously signposted. As a long-distance cycling trail, it has proven itself in this route since the 1980s.

The occasional detour in the route is not due to arbitrariness but to the desire to give cyclists as many memories as possible with an exciting route. Some sections are unpaved and only conditionally suitable for use with racing bikes, but there are always alternative routes to get from one place to another. For the most part, the route is signposted according to the ADFC guidelines; in the remaining sections, the green signs bear the logo of the Romantic Road and a bicycle symbol.

Tipp des Autors: Take a little more time for the monastery region of Pfaffenwinkel and visit the Rococo jewels along the cycle route. It‘s worth it!
